SPOTLIGHT ON
SOUL KITCHEN
by Christopher Borg
The cast of Soul Kitchen In May the cast of the new musical, Soul Kitchen
wowed the audience at the IT Awards Benefit, CABARETION! Now, through
the shear force of good will and will power of the artistic team, this
troupe has landed a date at Joe's Pub. For years Soul Kitchen
has been a labor of love for writer and director, Michael V. Doane.
This year Doane and the cast set a rather ambitious goal, to perform at
Joe's Pub. They mentioned this aspiration to almost everyone in the
business hoping to establish the right connections and make this dream a
reality. Their undaunted efforts have finally paid off. "Playing this
legendary venue is a huge thrill for myself and the entire SK posse past
and present" says Doane. He also mentions that they have incorporated
"additional songs and staging just for Joe's Pub." Their
performance in August will be a true testament to the outstanding and
tenacious work of their entire team. Congratulations! SOUL KITCHEN MONDAY, AUGUST 16TH at 7:30PM Joe's Pub @ the Public Theatre 425 Lafayette St between E. 4th and Astor Place
